Pea And Ham Soup

This has been a popular soup amongst UK Christians for as long as I can remember. It is delicious and easy to prepare.


  • 300g tin of mushy peas 
  • 250 ml of pork stock
  • 40g of ham (about 1 slice) 
  • 3 cloves of garlic chopped finely
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric 
  • 1 tsp of soya sauce
  • 1 tsp of balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper


  • Saucepan 
  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Wooden spoon


  1. Chop the ham into pea size pieces and add all of the other ingredients into the saucepan.
  2. Give a good stir and bring to the boil.
  3. Once boiling, turn down and simmer for five minutes.
