Sweet Mustard Feast

Sweet Mustard Feast in the garden with a potato, asparagrus and a wooden spoon.

This tasty dish is for the meat eaters; however, it can be veganised. This is easy to prepare and lots of fun to eat. The mustard sauce is amazing and goes beautifully with the hotdogs.


  • 4 New potatoes
  • 1 parsnip
  • 5 Asparagus
  • 1/2 a Sweet pepper
  • 3 Hot dogs
  • 1 tsp of garlic granules
  • Salt
  • Coriander
  • 1/2 tsp of chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoons of plain flour

Honey and mustard sauce

  • 1/4 of chilli mayonnaise
  • 1/4 of yellow hotdog mustard
  • 2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of water from the asparagus


  • Chopping board
  • Sharp knives
  • Roasting tin
  • Small saucepan
  • Medium saucepan


  1. Cut the new potatoes and parsnips into bite size pieces and boil until tender.
  2. Drain and coat in plain flour with the salt and coriander then leave to cool down.
  3. Roast the potatoes and parsnip pieces in the oven on 200 degrees centigrade for 25 mins turning half way through. Meanwhile, heat the asparagus on a medium heat for 10 mins
  4. Add all the sauce ingredients to a medium size saucepan and gently heat.
  5. Cut the 3 hotdogs and sweet pepper into bite size pieces and add to the saucepan with the roasted potatoes, roasted parsnips and stir. Leave to cook for 5-10 mins on a low heat.
  6. Serve with salad.
